1. INTRODUCTION:

‘Asian Journal of Management’ is an international, peer-reviewed journal, devoted to managerial sciences, published by A and V Publications, Raipur-Chhattisgarh. It is a quarterly journal published since 2010 as a published quarterly every year in last week of March, June, September and December. This study highlights the various article of scholarly content published by this journal during 2010-2017.

2. REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE:

Previously several studies by different authors have been analyzing the contribution of different Library and Information Science journals.

“Rajendran (2005) analyzed the study mostly the global output of ‘Fiber Optics’ research.

Articles covered in the Ei-Tech index database covering the period 1999-2003 have been considered for the study.”[1].

“Jena (2006) studied bibliometric analysis of the journal ‘Indian journal of fiber and textile research’ for the period 1996-2004 has been carried out.”[2].

“Thanuskodi (2011) study find out a bibliometric analysis of the journal titled “Library Herald” for the period 2006 to 2010. The analysis cover mainly the number of articles, authorship pattern, subject wise distribution of articles, average number of references per articles, forms of documents cited, year wise distribution of cited journals etc. All the studies point towards the merits and weakness of the journal which will be helpful for its further development. The result showed that out of 138 articles single author contributed 72 (52.17%) articles while the rest 66(47 .83%) articles were contributed by joint authors. Study reveals that most of the contributions are from India with 89.85 % and the rest 10.15 % only from foreign sources.”[3].

“Hussain (2011) had done a study of Points the bibliometric analysis of the IFLA Journal for the period of 2006-2010. The study demonstrates and elaborates on the various aspects of the IFLA Journal, such as its distribution of articles by year, authorship patterns, distribution of contributions by institutions, subject distributions, citation patterns, length of article, rank of cited authors, and geographical distribution of authors.” [4].

“Nagarkar (2015) results of a study are to analysis research productivity of life sciences faculty members at the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), Maharashtra, India. The research is conducted with the intention to know the research productivity over 15 years (1999-2013), the citations received, collaborations, and authorship patterns. Web of Science (WoS) database was used for the bibliographic and citation data. [5].

Degree of Collaboration among authors in Asian Journal of Management from 2010 to 2017 is presented in table 7. Calculate in order to the degree of collaboration (DC) among the authors in Asian Journal of Management journal, the formula given by K. Subramanyam (1983) is used, the formula is as follows –

DC = Degree of Collaboration

Nm = Number of multi-authored Contributions

Ns = Number of single-authored Contributions

The value of DC = (Nm)/(Nm+Ns)”[6].

In the present study, here – Nm = 218; Ns = 169.

218/218+169 so that

218/387 = 0.563

Table 7 shows the degree of collaboration is high, i.e. 218 (0.563%) in terms of collective or multi-authored Collaboration and the individual or single-authored contributions is less towards the subject during the study period.

CONCLUSION:

This journal Asian Journal of Management has a history of eight years. In this period of time published 387 articles from 2010-2017. The journal has maximum 87 (22.48%) articles published in the year 2014 and minimum 16(4.13%) articles published in the year 2010, table 2 reveals that maximum number of the references 1285 (21.64%) produced in 2014, table 3 indicates the types or forms of publication articles, among the total number of citations, which is 5936, journal have received 4158 citations (70.04%), table 4 shows the country-wise research contributions in volume 1-8 of source journal. Out of 387 research article contributions the highest 378 (97.67%) has been contributed by Indian authors, table 5 shows the contributions of authorship patterns of Asian Journal of Management journal among the 387 articles contributed  from the above analysis the maximum numbers of contributors are 174 (44.96%) of two authors in the articles. The degree of collaboration was 0.563.
